Candle Colors

Black: Although many people are uncomfortable using black candles, this is one of the most powerful colors available for magic. Black can absorb and remove any vibration or spellwork. It can repel any dark magic or negativity, even thought forms. Black can be used to reverse, uncross, bind, protect, release, and break up blockages. It also is useful for creating confusion and discord among your enemies. However, misuse with selfish or evil intent can cause spells or energy to backlash.

Blue: Use light blue for inspiration, gaining wisdom, finding the truth, good health, inner peace, harmony in the home, and working on your personal spiritual growth. Use royal blue for loyalty, group success, and occult power.

Brown: This color always attracts Earth Elementals. Use for communicating with nature spirits, attracting money, financial success, intuition, study, and grounding.

Gold or light yellow: Use for good fortune, quick money, divination, knowledge, healing, happiness, intuition, a change of luck, working with those in positions of authority, and contacting higher powers.

Green: Use for abundance, fertility, material gain, success, good fortune, marriage, healing, communing with nature, a fresh outlook on life, and wealth in general. This color is especially good for balancing an unstable situation.

Indigo: Use it to stop gossip and lies, balance karma, neutralize negative magic or energy, meditation, or unfair competition.

Magenta: This high vibrational color is usually burned with candles of other colors to speed up the action. When burned alone, it influences quick changes.

Orange: This color brings about major changes. Use it for encouragement, sudden changes, prosperity, creativity, success, energy, and when studying.

Pink: This color attracts the purest form of love, friendship, spiritual awakening, healing, and warm familial situations.

Purple: Use this color to remove curses and bad luck, drive away evil, and influence people who have power over you. It also is good for success, higher psychic ability, wisdom, progress, protection, gaining magical knowledge from the Otherworld, and making contact with spirits.

Red: Use for energy, sexual potency, passionate love, strong will power, and good health. It can also be used to counter psychic attack.

Silver or light gray: This color can neutralize any situation and repel destructive forces. Also use it for stability, meditation, and the development of psychic abilities.

White: Use this color for purity, truth, spirituality, contacting your spirit helpers, raising the vibrations, balancing the aura, and destroying negative energy. Whenever in doubt about a candle color, use white.

Yellow: This color is useful for strengthening the intellect, creativity, confidence, concentration, mental clarity, knowledge, counseling, business ventures, and studying medicine.
